One of the most powerful aspects of Rails is the ease with which new functionality can be added, and existing behaviours modified to suit the needs of any project. Plugins are a controlled mechanism for working with such enhancements, making it easy to share them between your projects, and with other developers in the community.
In this session, you'll see how you can take advantage of plugins in your own applications, not only by installing existing plugins but more importantly by creating your own. By understanding the purpose of each file and folder a plugin can contain, it's possible to share almost anything.
