Bauhaus Ideology and the Future of Web Design

A session at Future of Web Design (tour)

The Bauhaus ethic applied principles such as "honesty of construction", "truth to materials" and "form follows function" to design. It’s teachers placed emphasis on ideas, expression, simplicity and a holistic approach to art, architecture, graphic and product design. This was modernism.

Presentation looks at how the The Bauhaus’ principles can be applied to web design. Also, how modernism relates to current web design trends. Plus, how these principles can teach us to be better web designers. Above all, the presentation concludes with some Bauhaus-inspired thoughts for the future of web design.
