  • Activity Streams: Simple sentences, infinite potential

    by Alexandre Solleiro

Activity Streams is an upcoming format to describe and syndicate activity on the open web.
The basic idea is to standardize the way you express an activity online: someone did something, or "John posted a photo". The format is getting richer by the week and aims to become a standard. It's already used by Facebook, Google, MySpace, Windows Live, Six Apart and others, and is enjoying growing attention and adoption.

My presentation will start by quickly presenting Activity Streams to enter a discussion of their potential for revolutionizing personal and organizational information systems as a format that provides super simple universal object descriptions. The discussion will be illustrated with tangible and futuristic (surreal?) use cases.

    At 3:00pm to 4:00pm, Thursday 11th November
