I hear quite often that from folks that they want to become a software architect but when I delve deeper on it, I often find that they have no idea what an architect does or what it takes to acquire those skills. Just being a fantastic developer doesn’t cut it. Some of the most hard core developers who have amazing amounts of experience make horrible architects. On the other hand, you do need to have a technical focus to be most effective as an architect.
Passionate soul who gets his kicks solving problems with deep fried awesomeness. Currently employed by Microsoft.
