HTML5 has been in the making for a number of years now, but only in the last year have the browsers really been going to town on implementing these features. Then in May 2009, Google announced a demo page on Yahoo showing off native video, over using flash, and the web was alive with "yay! Flash is dead!".
I don't agree. Flash isn't dead, but if flash is primarily used for video, then flash developers will have to raise their game. This session will talk about some of the features in HTML5 that are designed to directly compete with Flash (and Silverlight), and also how these APIs work and what they look like. Be prepared to hear about JavaScript too!
