Why use Flash when you can use HTML5 & jQuery?

A session at dotBrighton: Why use Flash when you can use HTML5 & jQuery?

Wednesday 27th July, 2011

7:00pm to 9:00pm (GMT)

Ed Silverton will be talking about an HTML 5 interactive timeline he made for English Heritage with Digirati.

English Heritage are adding these timelines to their site to provide a user-friendly way to access historical data about their various properties around the UK.
He'll talk about the design process, his assessments of the technology options (Flash vs jQuery, Flot and jQPlot), which ones he settled on and why and the specifics of implementation. Ed aims to provide a real-world example of how such technologies can be used for a corporate client.

Ed Silverton is Director at Unwrong, a Brighton-based Internet Software development company whose expertise lies in gaming, user-interface and information architecture.
