Niels and Per in this session will show you how to move data from your v4 site over to a v5 site.
The v5 data layer is designed for extensibility but where do you get started? Alex and Aaron will take you on a journey on how to produce a simple Hive provider and open a world of possibilities for integrating your own services into Umbraco's UI.
See how data from Umbraco can easily be taken offline and made mobile. This session will demonstrate what’s possible today using the Open Data Protocol, HTML5 storage and Silverlight.
When Microsoft UK wanted to build a site for their largest technical conference, they had some key requirements. They needed it to be flexible, easy to edit and capable of coping with large traffic spikes. They also needed it yesterday. In this session Martin will discuss why they chose Umbraco on Azure, what Azure is and how the site was constructed in just over a month.
This will be followed by Morten Christensen demonstrating how to deploy an Umbraco website onto the Azure platform, with a Q&A for Martin & Morten to end the session off.

Niels will be talking about the new, exciting localisation framework in Umbraco 5. You'll be taken all the way from a simple "Hεllo Wørld" example to the features of the grammar, including proper handling of plural forms in exotic languages, separation of markup and text in translations, reusable templates and more. You'll also see how you can embed your own custom text provider as an alternative to the XML format, how to override pictures and texts or add new languages to the core and plugins, and how to localise view models without attributes.
