8:30am to 9:00am
65 million years ago, an asteroid three times the size of Mt. Everest took out the dinosaurs and most of the life on Earth. Can it happen again? Astronomer and author Phil Plait will talk about what happens during an asteroid impact, what we can do to stop it, and how Hollywood gets it so terribly, terribly wrong.
(Part of the Death from the Skies plenary session).
