Alternative Medicine: Trick or Treatment?

A session at CSICON

Saturday 29th October, 2011

9:30am to 10:00am (CST)

For almost two decades, Ernst has been trying to apply science to the field of alternative medicine in an attempt to determine what is trick and what is treatment. The results of his research are mixed and do not fit in a nutshell; suffice it to say that there are very few alternative treatments which demonstrably do more good than harm and equally few proponents of these modalities who are willing to accept that the tricks by far outnumber the treatments.
