Most meeting professionals want to use social technology to enhance the attendee experience before, during and after an event though technology and traditional tools, but often lack some of the primary knowledge needed to build a solid strategic plan for integrating social technology. This session will provide an overview of the features and benefits of Face book, Twitter, and newer tools like Foursquare, Skype, and other popular online communities and provide you examples of how these programs have been used at various events. During the last half of the session, you will have the opportunity to apply what you have learned in an interactive setting by completing an exercise designed to mimic the strategic planning process.
