User Access Levels, Joomla! 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 - Administrators Line

A session at Joomla!Day UK 2011

Saturday 24th September, 2011

12:00pm to 12:45pm (GMT)

Joomla! includes a facility called ACL (Access Control Levels). This is a very powerful and incredibly useful feature when building sites. The original Joomla! ACL system was completely rewritten for Joomla 1.6 and is now much easier to setup and administer than in previous versions.

The ACL facility allows you to specify exactly what each user can and cannot access in both the front end and the back end of the website by creating different ACL groups. You can also limit which people can administrate different areas.

This session will compare the ACL system in Joomla! 1.5 with the current system available in Joomla! 1.6 and 1.7 and will show you how to set up and adminsiter access groups within the ACL system.

At the end of the session will be a Q&A time, allowing you ask international professionals with years of experience working with Joomla, for advice and help as well as any other related questions you may have.
