Lightning Talk: Replacing Threads with Actors for Concurrent Web Application Service Calls

A session at LJC Open Conference

A simple way to parallelise back end calls in a web application is to use threads along with various features of the java.util.concurrent package.

This session discuses not only how this can be done but also considers how we can do the same using Actors via the Java interface of the Akka framework. Code examples for both approaches will be available.
