The Great Depression and The Grapes of Wrath: A Cross Curriculum, Cross District Project Using Web 2.0 Technologies

A session at Northeast Regional Conference on the Social Studies (NERC)

Tuesday 12th April, 2011

10:30am to 12:30pm (EST)

This session describes how to connect a history and an English classroom using a ning, a secure social network. The session presents the steps in the process to create and maintain ning, how to facilitate cross curriculum discussion, create multi-media projects, assess student participation and wrap up the project using a Skype call. This project demonstrates how Web 2.0 technologies can enhance learning by allowing students to become the teachers, creators, and evaluators of content.
