From Implementation to Next Generation: The CHI Shared Services Integration Story

A session at Shared Services for Government, Healthcare, Education & Not-for-Profilt

Tuesday 8th November, 2011

3:45pm to 4:30pm (CST)

Prioritizing Cost Control and Efficiency Improvement Without Compromising Quality of Patient Care

Several years ago, executives at Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), one of the biggest health care systems in the U.S., took a hard look at the organization’s highly decentralized business model and realized that it had to “unite.” Through years of growth by acquisition and consolidation, CHIS’s 48 hospital systems and 78 locations had always done things their own way. The inefficiencies of this model became insupportable in the face of present-day challenges. Hear how CHI’s leaders launched a “One CHI” initiative aimed to reinvent them as an integrated operating company. First line of business – shared services for HR, AP, Procurement, Expenses and Payroll.
