Uncanny & lovable: The future of emotional robots

A session at Uncanny & lovable: The future of emotional robots

Thursday 10th February, 2011

7:00pm to 8:30pm (GMT)

Born in the world of books & movies, the development of useful robots has been inching closer to becoming part of our daily life. From military robots to digital artificial intelligence in "bots" to the surreal moving robots developed in Japan we will explore yet another theme of the robot conversation: emotions. In the first talk of this series, Alexandra Deschamps-Sonsino will discuss the usefulness of robots developing or understanding our emotions, as well as the design challenges and market opportunities for the field.
