The problem with field research is that you never know what you're going to find out. The idea that field research requires 'magic' makes it difficult to sell. This presentation provides a framework for planning and analyzing field research and predicting where insights will come from. It will give novices a head start and help experienced practitioners to be more systematic and thorough.
