Marketing is the hardest part running a web app business, because there is much more to it than just an innovative idea and technical knowledge. Put it simple, without marketing no one cares about your great idea and your cool new service. Marketing is not about selling anymore, it‘s all about communicating and connecting with your audience, creating value and involvement. But first you have to create a lively and expressive brand identity.
This presentation is about branding and marketing a technical innovation and should function as an interactive, hands-on session, packed with strategy tips and best practice examples.
In the modern wave of NoSQL databases, MongoDB is sometimes mocked, but still one of the most popular databases. We use it on many places in Centrum Holdings and it's deplyoment was not only rosy.
Battle stories, funny and not-so-funny ones, advices and warnings. And maybe some horror stories.

In 2009, I was involved in content strategy for Elle.cz. What of the original intentions remained to present days? How to ensure that the content strategy could survive a replacement of the full team?
After two years, I’ll look back to evaluate my former role, used methods, deliverables, and implementation of content strategy into use.
The focus of your attention in day-to-day projects is probably on typical user-centered design activities: research, design and evaluation. Other people in the organization are responsible for things like determining the price of the work, the amount of time you get for your part, managing the scope and determining what goes in each release, and how your offering will be different from that of the competition. So, focussing just on design deliverables is not enough; much of the end user experience is determined outside of the design department.
In this presentation, I will show which deliverables also affect the user experience, and how you, as a member of the UX team, can - and should - influence them.
I plan to show real-world examples, highlight the elements that we can influence, and give tips on how to make sure you get to play your part.
