Archtober Building of the Day: Seagram Building

14 October 2012 from 12pm to 1pm

Currently in read only mode, sorry about that, please try again in a few hours.

The tour of the Seagram Building will be led by Belmont Freeman, FAIA, of Belmont Freeman Architects. Come for a tour of the building’s public spaces, and for a private tour of The Four Seasons restaurant, otherwise closed on Sundays.

Since 2008, Belmont Freeman Architects has been engaged in the design and management of restorations at the legendary restaurant The Four Seasons, Philip Johnson’s 1959 modernist masterpiece and a New York City Interior Landmark. After extensive research the firm prepared a restoration master plan of sequenced interventions that would allow the restaurant to remain in operation without interruption. The first phase of renovations included the lobby stairway and the Ladies’ Lounge, which was faithfully restored to its original condition. Upcoming projects include the entrance vestibules, lighting upgrades, new custom carpet, the bar, and restoration of the famous chain window shades.

Reservations must be made in advance
