Foraging for Edible Wild Plants

A session at 2012 Boston Skillshare

Saturday 28th July, 2012

12:15pm to 1:45pm (EST)

Edible plants are growing all around us and ready to enjoy throughout the year. From fruits like mulberries and elderberries, greens including nettles and spicy mustards, root vegetables like burdock and jerusalem artichoke, nuts such as hickory and black walnut, to a variety of teas including pineapple weed and various mints. We'll explore what to eat, what not to eat, where to find it, and how to prepare it, with a focus on urban environments.

This is an outdoor workshop. We'll take a walk along the Stonybrook green, identifying and learning about edible wild plants. The walk will take place rain or shine, so please dress for the weather. A zine on foraging recipes will accompany the workshop.
