Calder's artwork adorns the handwoven fabrics that hang in the Museum's core galleries, lending a vivid thumbprint to the walls that were constructed in 1935. Around the same time, these panels were made in Aubusson, France using a centuries-old technique that takes the weaver a month to create a single square yard of material.
