Pre-Conference Workshop: Achieving Full Asset Integration

A session at Defence Logistics Europe 2012

Monday 26th March, 2012

9:00am to 5:00pm (GMT)

The importance of striving to achieve full asset integration and total stock awareness has never been of greater importance. This workshop day combines the opportunity to learn how total IT solutions are paving the way both to increase capability but also to provide a layered and shared situational awareness of all stock. The second workshop will complement this with an introduction to the NATO codification system, which will provide the platform for international sharing of resources and stock and increased supply chain efficiency.

09.00 – 12.00 Industry workshop
12.00 – 12.30 Industry customer presentation
Case Study: How A Single Service Provider Can Enable Total Asset Awareness Across A Tri-Service System
Increasing shared situational awareness:

Workshop B

16.00 – 17.00 Panel discussion
NATO Codification: NATO Codification - The Language Of Logistics

Whilst total stock visibility is needed to achieve a streamlined logistics process, the underlying pressure to distribute and access resources must still be addressed. Furthermore, in an age of allied forces sharing resources, there is a need to ensure that all have the same access and management system. The NATO codification system will put in place a method that will allow tri-service co-ordination of resources as well as the ability to share components internationally. This system aims to employ a method of stock coding that will be used universally to achieve both integration of assets from the entire armed forces and as a standardised international system across allied forces.
