• BT Apprentices will demonstrate how data is being transmitted using optical fibres – the thickness of human hair!

  The world is changing and moving away from copper to fibre optics. New technology means that we are now able to deliver data speeds of over 100mb to businesses and homes. There will be hands on demonstration of optical fibre splicing and fusion. This will show how fibres are joined together using a sophisticated machine that precisely aligns and then fuses the fibres together to create the new network.
