"Big Data" versus "Lots of Data"

A session at Digital London

Tuesday 13th March, 2012

1:00pm to 1:20pm (GMT)

In this presentation, we will argue that what really differentiates "big data" sets from regular data sets is not their size, but their complexity; that the industry should really make a distinction between large, relational data sets ("lots of data") and large, non-relational data sets ("big data"); and that a different approach to the management and exploitation of these new, large and complex data-sets is required.
