Optimizing the value of process excellence through strategic alignment

A session at 3rd Annual Energy Process Excellence Network

Thursday 8th November, 2012

8:45am to 9:25am (CST)

Process improvement is a key element in optimizing strategy execution, but process improvement capabilities must be deployed effectively. All organizations engage in performance or process improvement initiatives that reduce costs and increase productivity—but could those improvement investments deliver higher value if they were deployed elsewhere in the organization? What is the true strategic value of those initiatives? Mitch will demonstrate how to achieve the maximum value for performance improvement initiatives by using performance metrics to align initiatives with the organization’s strategy.

He will explain how to:

  • Flawlessly execute strategy
  • Determine the hidden cost of misaligned performance improvement initiatives
  • Use strategic metrics to align and prioritize process improvement investments and initiatives
  • Magnify the benefits arising from aligning process improvement initiatives with the business strategy

Upon completion of this session, participants will learn/be able to:

  • Determine the true cost or value of process improvement initiatives
  • Determine the strategic value of performance initiatives
  • Create metrics that drive alignment of process improvement with the business strategy
  • Actions to take now
