In this talk we'll unpack Facebook's take on the HTML5 vs Native debate, and look in detail at the mobile web – what is being done to make it a viable app platform, and what Facebook is doing to drive the mobile web forward.

Simon Cross is an Engineer at Facebook. He's worked with startups and companies like Mixcloud, Spotify, The Guardian and SoundCloud to build their social integrations on the web and on mobile – particularly Open Graph. Simon also built the Facebook Graph Explorer which has inexplicably become one of the most popular developer tools for people building with Facebook's API's. Before Facebook, Simon worked at the BBC building social stuff, BBC iD and websites for the BBC's radio networks and music festivals. Outside of hacking on music and social tech, Simon plays the drums in The Poor Souls of Pompeii.
