Bar Camp bit

A session at Fieldwork Hack Day 2012

After the lightning talks to give everyone a common understanding of why we are there, what we're going to do, how, who, what etc etc. the main lab spaces will be available for four rounds of open framework Barcamp-style talks.

If you're familiar with this format, you'll be asked to help others get their head around it, but here's a potted outline:

  • four to six rooms will each host four short sessions. A grid on a board in the lobby will shows the rooms and times, and speakers will post up in the grid who they are and what they will talk about. If you think it's interesting, go along.
  • Rule of Two Feet: if during a talk you think something else might be worth catching, leave and go to that- no offense shall be taken.

After about an hour and half of this, we hope most information that can be shared in presentation style ways will have disseminated to those who need it, and then teams can finalise their structure and objectives, and crack on with hacking.
