Facebook timeline, Pinterest boards, and Tumblr themes! Oh my! As our content and design become more responsive, how much sense does the typical "content, sidebar" layout make? Appropriating from Facebook's new Timeline design, Sierra Nevada College ditches the traditional sidebar on a number of key pages in favor of a responsive, split column layout using jQuery Masonry, Bootstrap from Twitter, and Wordpress Custom Post Types. As these flattened content hierarchies become increasingly popular and redefine how we and our users look at content, find out how you can leverage existing technologies to implement effective design strategies to rejuvenate those static pages on your site. The process will demand that you reconsider each piece of content and how it is delivered. This presentation should allow entry points at multiple technical levels, from concept and strategy through the down-and-dirty coding techniques used to make it all work.
