This poster tells the story of a school's website headed for the junkheap that was affordably and speedily revived to become state-of-the-art. We're all seeing the number of mobile users on our websites race upwards, but launching a website redesign with a mobile component seems not only too expensive and too daunting — but also too slow! As a small graduate school, Erikson Institute in Chicago was struggling with this very dilemma. In fact, the school couldn't even address its mounting usability issues thanks to a quickly-outdated (and expensive) website platform which was routinely crashing. Erikson wasn't looking for a complete website redesign, even if it could have afforded it. The school needed a quick solution to its website's stability and usability issues. So why not handle both problems with one solution? That solution was a modern website platform (WordPress) with a responsive front-end design. Perhaps Erikson's story will inspire your school to save its website from the junkheap before it's too late.
