IT was responsible for 2% of global CO2 in 2007. This will double by 2020. By 2017 Hadoop will store and process 50% of data worldwide. So Hadoop users will have a lot of power to change global emissions.
We'll cover:
- How big an issue is this really?
- Why emissions vary and what determines them
- Practical solutions, and optimisation between cost, greenness, and speed
