JS in the front; REST in the back

A session at JS.everywhere(2012)

Friday 26th October, 2012

2:00pm to 2:30pm (PST)

"In traditional web apps, we put as much of our app into the server-side as we could - our data, our templates, our logic. But nowadays, it makes more sense to put as much of our app into the client-side as possible, using libraries like BackboneJS to architect it.

Based on my experience in rewriting Coursera admin from a traditional app to a client-centric app, I'll try and convince you why you should reverse your stack and show you how we did it, using JavaScript libraries like BackboneJS and RESTful APIs."
