This workshop will:

  • Allow clear understanding of the timeline of Chinese space development, from its nascent stages to the present day
  • Deliver focused insight to the major programmes currently under development by the Chinese government and the future milestones they are hoping to achieve
  • Analyse the implications of this rise to space power and proposals for how the existing space powers could react to manage this

Kevin Pollpeter is China Program Manager at Defense Group Inc.’s Center for Intelligence Research and Analysis. Previously, he was a researcher at the Rand Corporation. Mr. Pollpeter is widely published on China national security issues and focuses on the Chinese space program. He has travelled widely in Asia, including China, where he lived for 2 years. Mr. Pollpeter has advanced Chinese language skills and holds a master’s degree in International Policy Studies from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
