Library staff at De Montfort University have been running monthly Mashed Library events over lunchbreaks since early 2011. These are open to all staff and provide exposure to web 2.0 tools as well as mash-ups. While these meetings are informal, they have proved a valuable way of disseminating good practice and information about in-house projects, as well as the opportunity to explore new tools. This presentation will discuss the lessons learned from the #MashDMU meetings, examples of how new tools and technologies have been utilised in library activities, and the contribution this has made to staff development.
