With ESPN’s mission in mind “To Serve Sports Fans. Anytime. Anywhere.”, mobile has increasingly become the platform fans go to for scores, news, and highlights. What we have done at ESPN is try to understand when sports fans gravitate to their phones over the course of a day, what content they are looking for, and where they are going to consume sports content.

Taking a look at the mobile day in the life of a sports fan, we will answer these questions:

  • How are social sports involved in the mobile space?
  • Do sports fans prefer mobile web or mobile apps to view content?
  • How long are sports fans spending on their phone in a day and how much time is dedicated to sports content?
