There’s no question that today’s mobile ads aren’t working for brands. In fact, 88 percent of mobile users ignore in-app ads, and 79 percent describe them as “irritating.” Many marketers believe the solution lies in new or enhanced ad formats, but the reality is that better banners are not the key to igniting consumer interest and engagement. Instead, future success in mobile marketing will come from providing new kinds of value -- expected by today’s mobile users. Digital natives -- people under 30 who have grown up with smartphones -- know what their time is worth, and they won’t just give it away.
