(103) Internet Archive + Popcorn.js = Jon Stewart for all

A session at Mozilla Festival 2012

Saturday 10th November, 2012

2:00pm to 5:00pm (GMT)

What would it be like if everyone could use video as a powerful 'intelligence' weapon, just like Jon Stewart or Russell Howard? Join Mozilla and Internet Archive to prototype and build innovative applications that leverage their massive TV news research and borrow service.

The Internet Archive has over 300,000 television news clips from dozens of media outlets, we're planning to build a plugin for Popcorn that allows you to easily bring those clips into Popcorn and empower video bloggers to refer to them in their editorials.

Take-aways:

  • Mozilla Popcorn developer, Kate Hudson and Tracy Jacquith, from The Internet Archive will lead the group session, share progress, and sprint towards a working prototype.

Who should come?

  • Media Makers, Journalists, Storytellers, Rabble rousers
