In the age of social media, first class boredom has taken a back seat. To easy, distractions can be found in the ilk of Facebook and other second rate frivolousness. Real boredom requires determination and an unwillingness to settle for less than absolute annihilation of joy and cheerfulness.
Some Indian scholars regard the state of utter boredom as a way to enlightment.
