To start the second day I take a few minutes to explain where the idea came from.
The App Stores have made developing and selling your own products much more viable than it once was, even for a solo developer. Some of the best apps on the market are produced by lone wolfs and small teams. In this talk, I'll be detailing my own journey to indie-dom, and offer tips for those who are drawn down the same path.
In 45min, we'll try to cram everything there is to know about video concepts and features in Mac OS and iOS.
That includes knowing where we come from (analog, QuickTime,...) to what we can expect to do with the current technology.
Forewarned is forearmed! The most "basic" kind of animation can look tricky. But in the end... it's not THAT complicated.
How do you create the delight that’s so crucial to a successful product? We’ll delve into how design and technical decisions made while building an app can directly affect user enjoyment. The talk will center around real world examples.
Typography has always been an issue close to Apple’s heart. In this talk, a brief overview of typographic concepts and available text technologies on OS X and iOS will be given, with a more in-depth look at Core Text. Besides fundamentals of programming a C-based Apple-API and the principles of the framework (including an important CTFramesetter workaround), an example of a high-level wrapper architecture for easier typesetting will be examined. Finally, new light-weight alternatives to Core Text, which are introduced in iOS 6, will be presented.

Most of us Coding Beasts living in a world of bits and bytes. But every once in awhile, it's cool to get out of that world and into the realm of the tangible. We'll go over designing, manufacturing, marketing and distributing hardware peripherals for use with iOS devices, with the emphasis on the first two items. No engineering degree required!

The end of the conference is also a good time for either a Panel or anything else involving the speakers of Day 2 ;)
