Lightning Talks - Call for proposals

Paris Web 2012

After their huge success last year lightning talks are back!
This fast-paced format of short presentations allows to address interesting subjects that would not fit an entire conference slot. It is particulary suitable for jokes and thought-provoking traits.

The rule is simple: you have exactly four minutes to talk. After the 240th second, the microphone will be shut down. Having slides is optional, though preferable: the faster you talk, the better it can help the audience to follow you. You can use this time for a live demo, but beware how short 4 min are.

The subject is entirely up to you: an unknown trick you love, a popular technology you love or hate, a sexy and enlightening project, or a catastrophic and painful postmortem… If you are not familiar with lightning talks, they traditionally focus on hot topics. Bring it on! They will be delivered in the main amphitheatre at the end of the day, you can count on a hot audience.

Participation in lightning talks is open to registered participants and speakers at Paris Web 2012 only.

If you are registered and wish to submit a lightning talk proposal, please do so before September 17th, 2012, via this form:

People who submitted a subject will be notified personally, whether their subject is selected or not.

We are looking forward to hear from you!

If you need any further information, please don't hesitate to write to the session moderators Daniel and Robin, at lightningtalks@paris-web.fr.
