Dr Carole Nakhle is Senior Research Fellow in Energy at the University of Surrey, and acts as Special Parliamentary Adviser on energy issues and Middle Eastern affairs in the House of Lords, UK. She is an external expert for the Fiscal Affairs Department at the IMF, contributes regularly to the Liechtenstein based Geopolitical Information Service, and has worked for a number of oil companies, including Statoil and Eni
In this session, Dr Carole looks at how important transparency is in the extraction industries, how they manage transparency, what political influence do they really have on the world today, how they shape their image and what impact they have on the policy makers.
