THE NEW FRONTIERS: I HAVE EXCEL, I NEED PERFORMANCEPOINT AND POWERVIEW, AND I’M AFRAID OF ANALYSIS SERVICES

A session at SharePoint Saturday New Hampshire 2012

Saturday 22nd September, 2012

2:45pm to 3:45pm (EST)

In the SharePoint 2010 business intelligence toolset, PerformancePoint is one of the most powerful tools. But it almost always requires building an Analysis Services cube. Even if you know SQL and reporting, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) can be undiscovered country. Don’t worry! Join me for a deep dive into PerformancePoint and how to set up your first SSAS cube, and integrate into Analytics Charts and the Decomposition Tree. This scenario will start with only an Excel file. Attendees should be familiar with SQL queries and SharePoint administration – but C# experience is not necessary. Finally, we’ll show you how to add these data sources to Power View, and to SharePoint 2013.
