2:30pm to 3:10pm
This session will start with a high-level overview of the Metamarkets solution relative to other technologies (e.g., Hadoop, transactional systems, etc.). We will describe our technical requirements as well as our experience with numerous commercial and open source technologies along the way (e.g., Greenplum, InfoBright, MySQL, HBase, etc.). We will then discuss why we decided to build Druid, our own distributed, in-memory OLAP data store and lessons learned through trial and error. Finally, we will conclude with performance benchmarks we have achieved with Druid before Q&A.
