5:00pm to 6:00pm
12 Weeks and 60 meetings. Starting with 5 people from different industries whom I already knew, I asked each of them to introduce me to the most interesting person they know in NYC, and each of those people to do the same, for 12 weeks, resulting in 60 meetings documented on my website: http://www.conversationdominoes.com. I've always been fascinated by how a single conversation had the power to alter my life trajectory. A coffee that led to a career change, a lunch in NY that led to 3 weeks in London, and a chat in the dog park that spawned a new best friend. Over the summer of 2011, I challenged myself to have conversations with the most interesting New Yorkers by creating a unique game called "Conversation Dominoes" where each person I meet with is charged with setting me up with my next interview. Through this experiment, I'll track the path of introductions, where they lead, and all my learnings through adventurous business blind dates. As a next step in this project, I'm creating a new service that will help others to leverage their friends networks for business networking.
