Meryl Weinsaft Cooper is a communications/social media specialist, author, blogger, coach and filmmaker. Cooper is the co-author of Be Your Own Best Publicist: How to Use PR Skills to Get Hired, Noticed and Rewarded At Work (Career Press, Jan 2011) and is a career advisor for MediaBistro as well as a featured blogger for Forbes.com, The Hired Guns and BusinessInsider.com. Prior to founding the New York-based communications company Allen/Cooper Enterprises and Site/109, a pop-up exhibitions/event space in Fall 2011, Cooper held executive leadership positions at two of the top lifestyle PR/Marketing agencies, DeVries Public Relations and LaForce+Stevens. While there, she led programs for a variety of hospitality and lifestyle brands including Affordable Art Fair, Dale Carnegie Training, Veuve Clicquot, Viceroy Hotels, Vikram Chatwal Hotels, BR Guest Restaurants, Tourism New South Wales, Magnolia Bakery, Belvedere Vodka, Pepperidge Farm, Samuel Adams Beer and Ecco Domani Wines. A graduate of Ithaca College’s Park School of Communications, Cooper’s PR experience includes stints in art, music, media and entertainment communications, including time in the Screen Actors Guild’s New York Division. She spends her spare time writing and producing documentary films, traveling and seeking out the best culinary offerings from around the world which she documents in her blog, Searching for Jake Ryan (www.searchingforjakeryan.com).
