Macros and reflection in Scala 2.10

A session at Topconf Tallinn 2012

Thursday 1st November, 2012

4:00pm to 4:45pm (TMT)

There are lots of interesting new in Scala 2.10, the next version which will soon be released. In this presentation we will focus on the two of the most exciting features: the Scala reflection API and Macros.
In the previous versions of Scala we had to do with the Java reflection API, which of course does not know anything of the Scala type system. Scala 2.10 brings the native Scala reflection API. Macros is a new feature that makes it possible to implement language features that would previously have required changes to the language itself as libraries.
The format of this talk will be part presentation and part live coding.
