Understanding Online Retail

A session at Understanding Online Retail

In stark contrast to the doom and gloom of the bricks and mortar retail industry, online retail in Australia is thriving right now. With off the shelf content management systems and shopping carts readily available and product suppliers realising online stores can be very effective sales funnels, starting an e-commerce store is now easier than ever.

In this 90 minute class, we will provide an overview of the online retail industry and the process of setting up and growing a successful online store. The class will cover:
- An overview of the online retail economy
- Tips for planning your strategy
- A design and development overview
- Methods for sourcing stock
- Guidelines for stock and delivery management
- Tips of marketing and user acquisition
- Overview of community management and CRM
