  • Modular & Maintainable CSS with Sass - Workshop

    by Bermon Painter

As the web advances and the size of stylesheets increase CSS has grown to become a bit more tedious and difficult to maintain. Writing vanilla CSS is a pain in the Sass (oh yes!, I just did that). Using a preprocessor can be a great tool in your toolbox to create modular CSS and help increase maintainability and reusability.

The Sass workshop is divided up into 6 sections:

    • 5 minute quickstart
    • Preprocessor intro & concepts
    • Basic Sass
    • Intermediate Sass
    • Advanced Sass
    • Modular CSS systems

  • Mobile Apps 101 in Solid Titanium

    by Rob Rusher

Develop full-featured native iPhone and Android apps from a single codebase using Appcelerator Titanium mobile development platform. Titanium uses a developer-friendly JavaScript syntax with custom APIs and methods that get translated and cross-compiled to native Objective-C and Java. These apps are not HTML/CSS web views wrapped in a "native" package - they are real native apps with native UI components. In this session, you will be introduced to Titanium, what it is, how it works, what the code looks like, pros and cons of the platform, and just how easy it is to make mobile applications with it in several live demonstrations.
