In this session Mark will introduce you to some of the latest tools & frameworks and show you how they can be used to streamline and speedup the development process.
There are a number of CSS preprocessors available now; we’ll take a look at a few to see what they do, and how they can help you manage your code. Mark will guide you through the basics of LESS and show how it can be used to improve how you write your CSS.
We’lll take a look at Twitter Bootstrap developed by Twitter this framework is a great way to kickstart a website build. Mark will give you an overview of the framework, and look at what’s good & not so good under the hood.
Finally we’ll look at the concept of mobile first, responsive design. Building sites that work across devices from handheld to TVs. We’ll examine the thinking behind this approach, and some tools that can help you with it.
The session will consist of a combination of a presentation and live coding. Mark will aim to have something for everyone, whether they code or not.
