Mobile Accessibility For Everyone

A session at WXG - Web Expo Guildford

Tired of lame excuses for testing your (mobile) web page on accessibility? Tired of boring Powerpoint hells?

Then this presentation is the right thing for you:

The presentation is a hands-on walk-through on how to use VoiceOver & Zoom on your iPad or iPhone. We will go through all the basics to be able to easily switch on and off the screen reader in your pocket, how to switch off your screen and how to use your mobile device regardless (saving you a lot of battery).

After being able to take a picture of your head yourself with the backfacing camera of your phone, we will jump into the dep end and we go through the WCAG 2.0 guide lines and check what can be tested only with your smartphone.

If possible, bring an iOS-based mobile device with you to participate in the interactive part (iPad, iPhone, iPod touch). Similar tasks would be possible on a recent Android-based phone, too, but it would exceed the skope of a short presentation.
