Going Mobile in uPortal

As of uPortal 4.0, mobile has been a big focus and now gives end users a nice mobile view when accessing uPortal on their mobile phones and tablets.

This session will cover:

  • uPortal Mobile Overview / Functionality
  • Basic customization to the main uPortal view to look like your school / institution
  • Add / Remove devices that use mobile views
  • Incorporating mobile views into older portlets.
  • Mobile App vs Mobile Web

Dave Derderian

Java Developer

Dave Derderian is currently a student at Oakland University working towards a degree in Computer Science. He is the Lead Student Developer at Oakland University working on uPortal, portlet and mobile development. He has created custom portlets for Oakland University and assisted in incorporating the Progress To Degree and Courses portlet into their portal system. His main programming background is in Java, Android and Web development.
