Robert Sherratt

Head of Student Experience

Robert Sherratt graduated from university with a BA in Geography and a Masters in Information Systems and has worked in higher education for twenty years in three institutions and a wide range of jobs. He has been at the University of Hull for the last fifteen years; his current role is Head of Student Experience working for Library and Learning Innovation. This is a departure from previous roles working in IT, moving away from responsibility for specifying and implementing the technology required to provide solutions to working with the users of the systems, particularly students and faculty, on what solutions should be offered.

Robert has also served on the Jasig Board and represented Jasic during merger talks with the Sakai community and is currently serving on the Apereo Board. He also has been acting as the Board liaison for the uMobile project helping lead the project through its successful Phase 1 and onwards to the just started Phase 2.

Eric Goldman

Project Manager

Eric Goldman is a Project Manager for Unicon, Inc., the leading independent provider of open source training, consulting, and support in higher education. He has been involved in technology and project management for over 25 years, including work in the financial services industry, banking, utilities and hospitality. Previously Eric worked as a Managing Consultant for a small consulting firm in Houston and also worked as a Director of Technology for a high end real estate/golf course development firm.
He joined Unicon just over a year ago and his area of focus is in the portal community. Currently, his areas of responsibility include most of the uPortal/uMobile projects within Unicon.
Eric holds a degree in Managerial Economics from the University of Massachusetts Isenberg School of Management.

Matthew Polizzotti


Matthew Polizzotti is a U.X.Architect for Unicon, Inc. and a committer to the uPortal and uMobile projects. Matthew is a 12 year veteran of Web development and interface design with a focus on developing enterprise-class Web applications for higher education. Prior to joining Unicon in 2007, he was a lead developer for Anthem College, a post-secondary institution specializing in the delivery of online content to perspective students for a variety of disciplines. Matthew is a collaborative and perceptive developer with a wide ranging skill set. Over his career, he has worked with technologies that include CSS(3), HTML(5), a host of JavaScript technologies such as Node, Grunt, PhantomJS, Angular and Backbone as well as PHP, JSP and JSTL, XML, XSLT, JSON and AJAX. While his main focus is centered around interface development, Matthew has working knowledge of Linux systems, command-line interfaces, the Java platform and Java-based tools and frameworks such as Maven, Ant and Spring. His professional interests include developing client-side plugins and Web applications, improving user interfaces and contributing to open source projects.
